Welcome to Metfield

Metfield is a small village located in the county of Suffolk, England. It is situated approximately 5 miles south-west of the market town of Harleston and 20 miles south of the city of Norwich. The village is surrounded by beautiful countryside and is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Grade I listed St. John the Baptist Church, which dates back to the 14th century. The village also has a primary school, a village hall, and a pub called The Duke William.

The history of Metfield can be traced back to the Domesday Book of 1086, which records the village as "Medefelda". Over the centuries, the village has been home to a number of notable figures, including the poet and playwright John Skelton, who was born in the village in the 15th century. During the Second World War, Metfield was used as an airfield by the United States Army Air Forces, and a number of buildings from this period can still be seen in the village today.

Today, Metfield is a peaceful and picturesque village that offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
